Aurora’s Moon Festival Returns to Pacifica Square Sept. 19

The free, family-friendly celebration will feature cultural programming representing countries across Asia, the 4th Annual Ramen Race and more 

AURORA, Illinois. (September 3, 2026) Pacifica Square, Chicagoland’s largest Asian lifestyle center, will host the 2026 Moon Festival on Saturday, September 19, from 2 to 7 p.m.

The sixth annual Mid-Autumn Festival is one of Asia’s most widely observed holidays, a harvest celebration centered on family reunion and gratitude, and marked by the year’s fullest moon, traditionally celebrated with mooncakes and lanterns. Pacifica Square started Aurora’s Moon Festival in 2020, and the event has grown into a regional draw of 1,500+ attendees. Admission is free and no tickets are required.

2026 programming includes:

  • Cultural performances representing China, Japan, Korea and other countries across Asia
  • Martial arts demonstrations
  • The 4th Annual Ramen Race, a competitive ramen-eating challenge presented by Strings Ramen with more than $1,000 in cash and prizes
  • Cosplay competition 
  • Video game contests 
  • 40+ vendors, featuring food trucks plus dining options at Pacifica Square’s own food court and restaurants 

The festival is co-hosted by the Windfall Group, Pacifica Square, and the Global Friendship Exchange Foundation.
