Get ready to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit with the Pacifica Square community! Join us for a festive celebration on January 21st, 2023, filled with traditional food, performances, and activities. Plus, don’t miss our Pet Costume Contest, where you can dress up your furry friend and win great prizes!

The Lunar New Year, also known as the Chinese New Year, is a centuries-old tradition celebrated by many Asian cultures. It marks the start of a new lunar cycle and is based on a lunar calendar. The holiday is steeped in history and rich in customs, such as red decorations, fireworks, dragon and lion dances, and family reunions. This year, the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit starts on February 12th.

The popularity of night market is fast-growing, and our intention is to host this event in every major city in the Midwest, not just in Illinois. Based on early interest and feedback, this year’s inaugural 312 Night Market is generating a lot of excitement, and we are expecting a great turn out! AAPI HERITAGE MONTH

AAPI Heritage Month is observed annually in May to celebrate the contributions that generations of AAPIs have made to American history, society, and culture in the United States. The event will be host outside on Pacifica Square’s parking lot, groups from various Asian communities will present a variety of high-quality programs include lion and dragon dance, Beijing Opera, singing, folk dance, Kung Fu, and drumming.
